Technology touches almost everything at Ocado. In fact, Ocado Technology, Ocado's IT division, is the engine room of the business.
Ocado is the world's largest online-only grocery retailer. Our customers place their orders on our award winning website or mobile apps; we then pick and pack them in our highly automated Customer Fulfilment Centre (our "CFC") and deliver them in one hour time slots. In a typical week, we deliver over 100,000 customer orders: in the region of 7 million individual items.
From the optimisation algorithms that fine tune our daily delivery routes, to the machine learning techniques that drive our consumer demand forecasting, to the real-time control systems that operate our vast CFC, at Ocado Technology you'll find a range of challenging projects on offer, each requiring all of your technical abilities and creativity.
Our teams
The Mobile Development team develops and supports our award winning "Ocado on the Go" range of products. These are native, mobile shopping clients for iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7. The team uses a wide range of technologies, including Objective-C, Java for Android, JavaME, C# and SQLite.
